Performance coaching is a focused effort to improve leadership skills.
Establish Key Performance Goals.

- Evaluate company environment and baseline current performance and processes.
- Agree on achievable performance goals.
- The leader accepts that they own the performance goals.
- The focus will be on skill-building, leadership traits, culture, and process.
Create & Execute the Plan.

- Coaching is personal and focused on the individual leader.
- The plan focuses on four key elements:
- Coach for strong leadership skills.
- Rely on data and facts.
- Establish repeatable processes.
- Work on effective communication.
- As with an athlete, the performance coach will analyze the individual’s current capabilities, assess challenges, and propose a process to meet the goals.
Implementing the Plan Requires Managing Change

- Core performance issues as well as new issues
may emerge. - Being open to receiving feedback honestly
s critical to success. - Long-lasting improvement requires ongoing encouragement and company support.
- Measurable improvement happens over time and
is not a straight line.
